FORM RELEASE AGENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL CONCRETE
Specifier Notes: This specification is for the use of DEBOND FORM COATING to produce architectural concrete surfaces without bugholes, stains or residue. Though DEBOND is formulated to produce superior results, it is economical enough to be used on less demanding applications. Therefore, for simplicity, economy, and expediency, DEBOND FORM COATING may be used on the entire project rather than having additional release agents on a job-site.
PART 1. GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
- A. Application of architectural form release agent which conforms to all local and federal air quality regulations, while leaving a stain and residual free surface, without bugholes.

1.03 DELIVERY, PRODUCT HANDLING, and STORAGE
- A. Deliver DEBOND FORM RELEASE in it's original, sealed containers.
- B. Store containers horizontally in a cool, dry, well ventilated place. Keep containers tightly closed when not in use. Protect from water intrusion. Store and handle in accordance with manufacturer's written instructions.
1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE
- A. Architectural concrete, except where noted, is to meet ACI 301-84 Specifications for Structural Concrete for Buildings, Chapter 13 Architectural Concrete. Cast concrete surfaces must agree with the accepted mockup.

PART 3. EXECUTION
3.01 EXAMINATION and PREPARATION
- A. Verify by examination that form surfaces are acceptable to receive specified material.
- B. Form surfaces shall be clean and dry. All traces of concrete build-up, dust, and debris must be removed from form surfaces before release agent is applied.
3.02 APPLICATION
- A. Apply DEBOND FORM COATING in a manner to avoid overspray on reinforcing steel and materials. It shall be applied by a technique to produce a thin uniform film, e.g. By wiping with a cloth or flat, wide angle, spray pattern produced by a 80015 or equivalent spray tip. Remove all excess DEBOND, including puddles, with a clean, soft cloth that is damp, not wet with DEBOND.
- B. DEBOND FORM COATING shall be applied at any ambient temperature.
- C. Over spray on reinforcing materials shall be removed within 24 hours.

3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL
- A. Inspect the finish surface with the Contractor, Architect, and L&M representative to determine if surfaces are suitable.
3.04 CLEAN UP
- A. Clean site of all unused DEBOND FORM COATING, forms, residue, waste, and effluents in accordance with environmental regulations.
